Relaciones Comerciales y de Inversión en el Caribe
En un paso significativo para fortalecer las relaciones comerciales y fomentar el desarrollo económico entre la República Dominicana y Jamaica, el Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (Conep) y la Organización del Sector Privado de Jamaica (PSOJ) establecieron un histórico memorando de entendimiento.
El acuerdo busca principalmente promover la inversión y el desarrollo comercial, destacando la importancia del intercambio de conocimientos para crear un entorno propicio que estimule la cooperación y el comercio entre ambas naciones caribeñas.
La ceremonia en donde participaron el presidente de la institución dominicana, Celso Juan Marranzini, y Metry Seaga, presidente de PSOJ, sirvió para fortalecer la confianza entre los países. "Esta alianza generará grandes beneficios para ambas naciones, fomentando la inversión, el comercio y la creación de empleos en nuestros países", enfatizó Marranzini.
El presidente de PSOJ, compartió la importancia de este acuerdo histórico, describiéndolo como un paso fundamental en el fortalecimiento de las relaciones comerciales y económicas entre ambas naciones. "Estamos muy cerca, somos muy similares y somos muy buenos amigos", añadió Seaga, y resaltó la afinidad y la amistad que comparten las dos naciones.
Durante la formalización de esta alianza estuvo presente la embajadora dominicana en Jamaica, Angie Martínez, quien expresó que este acuerdo es un testimonio de la fuerza, resiliencia y compromiso del sector privado de ambos países para trabajar juntos.
El compromiso ético y responsable también fue resaltado en el acuerdo, ya que ambas partes acordaron cumplir con todas las leyes y reglamentos aplicables, reflejando el compromiso del Conep y el PSOJ de actuar de manera ética y responsable para promover un ambiente empresarial justo y sostenible.
La firma del memorando contó con la presencia de importantes figuras del ámbito empresarial y gubernamental, como Juan José Melo, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de Jamaica en el país, Carlos Fernández, director de Fersan, Víctor Pacheco Méndez, director ejecutivo de Arajet, Mildred Santos, subdirectora Técnica de ProDominicana, Arivell Tapia, coordinadora de la Dirección de Promoción Comercial e Inversiones del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, y Perla Contreras, gerente de Asuntos Regulatorios del Conep.
